Many government job notifications state a minimum eligibility percentage (for example "60% in graduation"), but if your degree was awarded on a 10-point CGPA scale rather than percentage marks, you need to convert before you can tell whether you qualify. There is no single official conversion formula that applies to every Indian university — a commonly cited approximation is CGPA × 9.5, but plenty of universities publish their own multiplier or an entirely different subject-marks-based method.
