Constable (GD) in Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and SSF, and Rifleman (GD) in Assam Rifles Examination, 2026

VERIFIED against the actual current-cycle SSC GD Constable 2026 notification PDF (Notice_of_CTGD_2026.pdf, 74 pages, published on ssc.gov.in on 01.12.2025, application window 01.12.2025-31.12.2025, for the Constable(GD)/Rifleman(GD) 2026 CBE). This significantly CORRECTS the prior research pass, which cited a 3.5x4.5cm/20-50KB photo spec plus an unconfirmed 'thumb impression' requirement from secondary sources. Neither of those is present in the actual current notice: (1) PHOTOGRAPH IS CAPTURED LIVE via webcam/mobile camera during the Online Application Form -- there is no separate uploaded photo file with a 3.5x4.5cm or any other fixed dimension/KB spec in the current cycle. (2) NO THUMB IMPRESSION REQUIREMENT WAS FOUND ANYWHERE in the 74-page document (searched exhaustively for 'thumb' -- zero matches). The only fingerprint-related provision is that PwBD candidates whose disability prevents signing may substitute a scanned fingerprint image in place of a signature. The prior pass's thumb-impression claim appears to be outdated or drawn from a different/older SSC exam's requirements. (3) SIGNATURE is confirmed multiple times, consistently, as JPEG, 10-20 KB, 'about 6.0 cm (width) x 2.0 cm (height)', explicitly 'at a resolution of 300 DPI' (this is the only one of the four SSC notices checked this pass that states an explicit DPI). Unlike CGL and CHSL, GD's own document does NOT contain the 6cm-vs-4cm internal inconsistency -- all mentions (main body para 8.7, Annexure-III OTR instructions, and the 'Upload your signature' numbered steps) consistently say 6.0 x 2.0 cm. Taking the stated 300 DPI literally, 6.0x2.0cm converts to approximately 709x236px; the 140x60px value above is instead the long-standing conventional pixel-equivalent used by virtually all resizer tools (and matches IBPS's own explicitly-stated 140x60px for a similar-sized signature) -- both are provided here for transparency, but 140x60 is used as the primary figure since it is the far more common real-world convention.
